Hey Donna, it looks like your research may be on Study Island's effectiveness. I am also doing research on a computer program to evaluate its academic effectiveness and usage. There are many action steps (outcomes) that can be inserted. You can take a look at mine for ideas if you would like lisahowardlead.blogspot.com I would include more outcomes and make them more specific. Study Island can give you a lot of information on student progress, and that can all be used as steps along the way to the end goal. I look forward to following your research and seeing the success of Study Island. Good luck!
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I agree that I could include more outcomes and be more specific. I will take a look at your blog to get some ideas.
Donna, thanks for your comment on my blog. Our plans are similar. We even use Study Island as our main computer-based program. I would agree with Lisa, in saying that you may want to break it down into smaller steps. Another thing you might want to reconsider is using STAAR for part of your assessment. Will you get scores back in enough time to finalize your project before the end of the program? I know that was something my principal pointed out to me. I will be following to see what your outcomes are and see how our results compare.
